New South Associates was incorporated in Georgia in October 1988 as a professional cultural resources consulting firm dedicated to archaeological and historical research. Our staff maintains a reputation for technically excellent cultural resources studies, good working relationships with state and federal review agencies, and leadership in developing local public awareness of cultural resources. The Small Business Administration certifies us as a woman-owned small business.

Our goal is to provide innovative and technically excellent cultural resources consulting services within project schedules and on budget. This is a formula that offers superior client service while allowing us to make a contribution to current archaeological and historical research. New South Associates specializes in cultural resource consulting in the southern United States and Caribbean, and also offers cultural resource services for federally sponsored international projects.

New South Associates occupies a 4,000 square foot renovated historic house and three adjoining 1,500 square foot buildings on a three and a half acre campus in the National Register of Historic Places listed village of Stone Mountain, 15 minutes from downtown Atlanta. The firm maintains branch offices in Columbia, South Carolina; Greensboro, North Carolina; St. Augustine, Florida; and Nashville, Tennessee. The Stone Mountain location provides access to the libraries of the University of Georgia, Georgia State University, Emory University, and the Georgia Institute of Technology, as well as the regional offices of the National Park Service, USDA Forest Service, and the Corps of Engineers. Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, located only 30 minutes from our main office, provides ready access to project sites located around the country.
